Res Publica derives its name from the Latin term for public — as opposed to private — matters, and is the core of the concept of “republic” that is the social and political organization by which public matters are addressed.

This blog was created to add an occasional conservative voice to the public discourse about politics in our local area, and to provide readers with some information and insights that may not appear in the local media or in other blogs.

The intent in starting this blog is not to build up a political consulting business or manipulate local politics, but to help keep our readers informed about matters that affect their lives and the lives of their family and friends.  The emphasis will be on accurate information, and any commentary made will be clearly labeled as such.
